This summer we have a motivated group of young people interning at the Westchester County chapter of the American Red Cross. And, it is thanks to this ambitious team of high school and college students that their bosses are able to maintain at least some of their sanity during this busy season.

What do you do as an intern with the Red Cross? “I work for the Financial Development Department of the American Red Cross in Westchester. I mainly work on data entry and mail organization.”

Why did you choose to spend your summer with the Red Cross? “Red Cross is a premier non-profit organization that utilizes humanitarian principles to directly provide relief to the community in times of emergencies and disaster. I wanted to be part of an organization that does charitable and reverential work and makes an enormous impact on the community. Therefore I chose to intern at Red Cross.”
What do you do as an intern with the Red Cross?” “I am a special events coordinator which means I help red Cross and specifically my department, Financial Development, with organizing various networking and fundraising events. I have worked on events such as the CEO Breakfast, Mayor’s Breakfast and the upcoming 10th annual Holland Event. My biggest project has been managing the Heroes Breakfast Nominations Process.”
