The American Red Cross and County Executive Robert P. Astorino join together to promote the importance of training. On October 6th at 3pm at the County Executives ‘s offices, The American Red Cross in Westchester County will train Astorino and his executive staff in CPR-Made Simple. CPR -Made Simple is a new Red Cross offering designed to teach life saving skills. The one hour course includes CPR, how to care for a choking child and adult and how to provide critical information to Emergency Medical Services. Prompt and effective administration of CPR can mean the difference between life and death with 85% of out of hospital cardiac arrests occurring at work or at home. Treatment delay of 4 to 5 minutes decreases survival rate by as much as 40%. CPR- Made Simple is designed for individuals who want to learn essential lifesavings skills but do not need certification for work. Astorino says:”In any emergency, time and knowledge are critical. This course can equip people with the vital skills that they may need when they least expect it to save a life some day.” John Ravitz, CEO.
